The fact that Budapest is one of the most photogenic cities in Europe is no secret. Below you’ll find the top 5 spots that will make your instagram feed drool worthy. If you want more information about each place, you can check my post “All you need to know about visiting Budapest“.
1. Fisherman’s Bastion
Pro tip: It’s no wonder that the Fisherman’s Bastion ends up at nr 1 on my list. It’s immensely popular and incredibly beautiful and photogenic. Get there early in the morning to beat the crowds!
2. Parliament of Budapest
Pro tip: Take the metro to station Batthyány tér to get the best view of the building.
3. St. Stephen’s Basilica
Pro tip: You’ll find the Basilica right in the middle of the Pest side of town. It’s located on a busy town square so be sure to get there early in the morning to beat the crowds (I did not)! There are 3 metro lines that are close the Basilica: Arany János utca (M3 blue), Opera (M1 yellow) and Bajcsy-Zsilinszky út (M1 yellow).
4. Széchenyi bath or Gellért bath
Pro tip: The Gellért bath is as you might can tell by the name very close to Gellért Hill. Why don’t finish off the long walk by taking a moment to relax in their calm environment? It’s also super photogenic! Just keep in mind that there will be a lot of people there…
5. Gellért Hill
Pro tip: Bring plenty of water as it is a tough walk up the stairs to reach the top of the hill. If you can’t make it to the top, don’t worry – the views are stunning from all the resting sites too! The closest metro station to Gellért Hill is Szent Gellért tér (M4 green).
